General Notes: Husband - Emanuel Brosius

He was a tanner by trade and worked in his father's steam tannery at Clear Spring, Maryland. He moved to Franklin County, Pennsylvania, about 1850, settling first near Mercersburg, where he farmed. He then located at McConnellsburg, Fulton County, and purchased the "Fulton House," which he operated very successfully for five years, after which he sold the property, and removing to Greencastle, Antrim township, Franklin County, he lived retired for a number of years. About seventeen years after selling his hotel he settled in Hagerstown, Maryland, and made that city his home for two years. His next change was made when he moved to Martinsburg, West Virginia, and spent a year, after which he located at Mont Alto, where his death occurred.
