General Notes: Husband - David S. Young

He was born in Greenwood township, Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, on the south side of the west branch of the Susquehanna river. He obtained his education in the common schools and grew up on the home farm and remained there for some years following his marriage and then bought his own place. There he made many improvements including the erection of all the substantial buildings on the place, and carried on general farming and stock raising.
He and his wife were members of the Zion Baptist church, of which he was a trustee. He was a Republican in his political affiliations but had independent tendencies.
