General Notes: Husband - Samuel Slater McCreary

For many years he lived on a farm situated on an elevation in the central part of Mill Creek township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, and was a man of great intelligence and strong moral character. He was a great reader, and in order to satisfy this desire he accumulated a library of nearly a thousand volumes. He would work hard all day at his trade and at night would spend his time until the small hours reading by the light of a tallow candle. In politics he was a staunch Republican.
