General Notes: Husband - Clarkson Brosius

He was a leader in his community, and although for years incapacitated physically, yet he was foremost in every good work for the elevation of his fellowmen. He was a thorough gentleman, and devoted to his calling, that of farming. He was methodical, scientific and enterprising, and ranked high as a model farmer. He was largely instrumental, in 1856, in organizing the Octoraro Farmers Club, which gave an impetus to higher farming in southern Lancaster and Chester counties.
