General Notes: Husband - Isaac Heilman


He spent his life on a farm and was much interested in educational matters, serving as school director for almost forty years. He was defeated for sheriff of Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, by only one hundred and sixty votes, he being a Democrat while the county was largely Republican. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
He and his wife were the parents of twelve children-eight sons and four daughters. Of this family five sons and four daughters survived in 1909.
