General Notes: Husband - John James Campbell

He was engaged in farming till 1874, when he came to Swissvale, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and engaged in the coal and transportation business. Being frequently requested to do errands in the city, he started, in 1880, an express business, making one trip per week. This grew until he employed six wagons and seven men, with an office in the city. In 1887 he built a residence in Wilkinsburg, and was the owner of three other houses, besides his former dwelling at Swissvale.
He and his family were identified with the Presbyterian Church. He was a member of the Jr. O. U. A. M. and Garfield Council, Home Circle, of Allegheny. He was a republican, and acted as school director for six years while a resident of the city.
