General Notes: Husband - Robert John Breckenridge

His father before him was a contractor, and the son, at twenty-one, as soon as he completed his schooling, began work with his father. So great was his natural aptitude that he rapidly learned the technical details of the business and soon took the entire responsibility for placing bids for the construction of railroad bridges and other structures.
After elementary instruction in North Liberty Township, he was tutored by Professor Ketler, and soon entered Grove City College. His activities in his chosen profession ranged over the entire eastern part of the United States, where numerous structures long survived as a monument to this man who always put into them his very best skill and effort.
Some time after his father's death he organized the firm of Uber & Breckenridge, and after William Uber retired from the firm he organized the Robert J. Breckenridge Construction Company of Grove City, Pennsylvania, which constructed many bridges and performed many unusual engineering feats under his guidance.
From its organization, for twenty-one years, or until his death, he was a director of Grove City National Bank, which closed on the day of his funeral, as did all the banks of the city. For years, also, he served on the board of public school directors. The Presbyterian Church claimed his hearty support.
