General Notes: Husband - Johannas Weaver

When Johannes was 19 years old, his family moved to the Freeberg area in Berks County, PA, but shortly thereafter the area became part of Northumberland County. Today, it's in Snyder County. The family home was between Kantz and Salem.
He served in the Revolutionary War and is listed in 1776 as Private, 1st Co of the 4th Battalion of the Northumberland Militia. His brother David was also in the same company and battalion. This company apparently spent a lot of time putting down Indian rebellions.
In 1776, he was taxed as a "freeman" (unmarried) in Penn Township, Northumberland County, PA.

He located in Haines township, Centre County, PA, at a very early day in its history, and there reared a large family. He was a weaver by trade, and also engaged in farming, owning a valuable and well-improved farm at the time of his death.
