General Notes: Husband - John A. Brandon

Connoquenessing Twp, Butler Co, PA

He spent his boyhood on his father's farm and received his education in the district schools of Forward Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania. He also attended Witherspoon Institute and for a period of fifteen years was a teacher in the schools of Forward and Connoquenessing townships, serving as assistant to Prof. W. I. Brugh, who at that time was principal of Witherspoon Institute. In 1880 Mr. Brandon was appointed enumerator of the census in Forward Township. He also held the office of school director of Forward and Connoquenessing townships for many years. Mr. Brandon was later a mail carrier and lived at Connoquenessing.
He was always a Republican. For many years he was identified with the Mt. Nebo Presbyterian Church of Whitestown, serving as ruling elder in Mt. Nebo Church for twenty-eight years, but later he held membership in the Methodist Episcopal Church of Connoquenessing.
