General Notes: Husband - Stephen Marsh

He was born in England, and was twenty years old when brought by his parents to the United States. He engaged in farming in the neighborhood of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hearing of cheap land in the west, he went thither with his family, his aged father accompanying them. Their experience of pioneer life was brief. While engaged in clearing land, he was killed by the falling of a tree, and shortly after the family, with the exception of his widow and venerable father, returned to Philadelphia, whither Mrs. Marsh subsequently came.
