General Notes: Husband - David Bradford

He was a native of Maryland, and came to Washington County, Pennsylvania, in 1781; was admitted to the bar in 1782, and appointed deputy attorney-general the next year. When the convention of the four western counties met at Pittsburgh, Sept. 7, 1791, he was one of the three representatives from Washington County. He was elected to the State Legislature in 1792. He was active in inciting the people to the Whiskey Insurrection. When the amnesty proclamation was issued, Bradford was one of the few excluded. He fled down the Ohio River and settled at Bayou Sara, Louisianna, where he remained till his death.
