She attended Franklin, Pennsylvania, schools and Pennsylvania College of Music under Professor E.E. Holt. She was active in the Monday Evening Musical Society and Franklin Women's Club. She taught piano lessons in her home for many years. She was a member of the First Methodist Church, a Past Matron of Nursery Chapter 25, Order of Eastern Star, member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Franklin Commandery 44.
