General Notes: Husband - John McNary

He resided on part of the homestead in Chanceford township, York County, Pennsylvania. In 1769 he was elected an elder in the Seceder Congregation of Guinston. In 1801 he bought a farm in North Strabane township, Washington County, Pennsylvania; and on going back for his family was taken sick and died there the same year, and was buried at Guinston. After his death the family removed to the new farm in 1802. The eldest son, James, had preceded the family to Washington County in 1798.

He was a soldier in the Revolutionary War.

The eldest son of the Scotch-Irish emigrant, he continued to reside at Chanceford on the old McNary homestead, where he died and his remains lie in the burying grounds at Guinston Church; but all the members of his family, together with the three other McNary brothers, with their families, removed to Washington County in the last quarter of the eighteenth century.
