General Notes: Husband - William McBurney


He learned the blacksmith's trade with his father, succeeding him in East Liberty, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, and continuing until about 1880, when he retired. He was in active business for over a half century. He was a quiet home-loving man, a staunch Democrat in politics, and an industrious capable business man.

She was born on a farm located where the town of Vanderbilt, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, later stood.
