He came to Franklin County, Pennsylvania, in company with his brother James, in 1834, and purchased a farm and an adjoining tract in partnership with him. William Boyd was an energetic, enterprising man; his farm was cleared, and the buildings were all erected by himself; he erected a spacious brick residence in 1852.
