General Notes: Husband - David Hunter


He was born in South Huntingdon township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, learning the trade of tanner at Mt. Pleasant, where he worked at tanning for a short time and then engaged in the mercantile business. He soon quit merchandising and returned to his native township where he embarked in the business of farming. He was a whig until the formation of the Republican party when he joined it and supported its principles and candidates thereafter.
He was a member of Sewickley Presbyterian church and was a ruling elder for over fourteen years.
