General Notes: Husband - Rev. Dr. John Carnahan Boyd, D.D.


He received his academic education at Jacksonville, Indiana County, Pennsylvania, and Jefferson College, Canonsburg, and entered the Theological Seminary of Allegheny in 1854, graduating in 1858. He was licensed April 4, 1857, and was ordained April 14, 1858. He was pastor of St. Clair, Allegheny County, after his ordination, and was corresponding secretary of the board of publication. He was a delegate to the first Pan-Presbyterian Council in 1877, a professor and editor of the Evangelical Repository in 1881-85, and was later associate editor of the United Presbyterian. Some of his publications were: "An Anniversary Discourse," "The History of the Synod of Pittsburgh," and the "History of the Second Associate Reformed Presbytery of Pennsylvania."
