He and his wife were both born in Germany, but they came to America at a very early day and settled in Elk town­ship, Clarion County, Pennsylvania, where he bought a farm of seventy acres. This farm was originally virgin wilderness, but prior to his demise Mr. Whitikind had cleared and im­proved all of it.
