He was engaged in shooting wells for about eighteen years, until 1915, after which he devoted his time to his mother's in-terests and the oil production in which they were jointly interested. He was a director of the Bowers Torpedo Company, and a member of Fraternal Lodge, No. 483, F. & A. M., of Rouseville, also affiliating with the Elks and Odd Fellows.
