General Notes: Husband - James Speer


He emigrated to America from County Tyrone, Ireland, in 1759, and settled in what is now Adams County, Pennsylvania. His home was in the Gap, in the South Mountain, eight miles northwest of Gettysburg. Early in life he was a Covenanter, but later he became a Presbyterian.
