He came to America from England in 1838, bringing his wife. He settled in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and there followed the butcher business for a number of years, and was succeeded by his son.

He came from England in 1841 and locating at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he was engaged in the butcher business. He died in his sixty-fourth year from an injury received in an accident.
