General Notes: Husband - John J. Hutcheson

He was seven years old when his parents came to Mercer County, Pennsylvania, where he grew to manhood. In the spring of 1856 he went to California, and remained on the Pacific coast until the summer of 1861, when he returned to his home. He then went into the dry goods business in Cochranton, Crawford County, and continued merchandising at that point two years. The next two years he spent in the oil country, and in 1866 opened a shoe store in Greenville, Mercer County, which he conducted five years. In 1873 he formed a partnership with William Paden, in the dry goods business, in which he remained three years, when he sold out to his partner and purchased the boot and shoe stock of John Ramsey, and was thereafter engaged in that business. In 1878 Mr. Hutcheson erected a store-room, which he then occupied.
He was married three times, his first two wives having been daughters of Peter Fritz, Esq., of Greenville. Four children were born of both marriages, all of whom were dead before 1888. Politically Mr. Hutcheson was a Republican, and a member of the Masonic and I. O. O. F. societies of Greenville.
