General Notes: Husband - John Bohlender

He was but five years of age when his parents came to America and he was reared on a farm, receiving but a limited education in the English language at the early country schools. When fifteen years old he left the farm and became a coal miner. He has, to use his own language, “paddled his own canoe” since fifteen years of age. After marriage, he lived for a short time in Ohio and then removed to Mercer County, PA. After 1890, he made his home in Grove City.
