He was a descendant of the celebrated Stebbins family of Essex County, England. Rowland, the founder of the family in America, immigrated in 1634 to Springfield, Massachusetts.


General Notes: Wife - Rachel Blodgett


In 1820 she and her family came to Cussawago township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in an ox cart and settled on the farm owned for many years by Horace Fields.
