General Notes: Husband - Richard Bailey

He settled in 1775, in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania, at what became Pennsylvania Furnace.

He came from Chester County, Pennsylvania, about 1790 and settled in Centre County. He bought extensive tracts of land and resold them in part, thus gathering about him a number of settlers, who erected their habitations immediately about, forming in time quite a hamlet, which in his honor was given, the name of Baileyville.
