He and his wife were natives of Ireland, and who settled in Woodcock township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in 1835.

Her first husband died when her children were small. She afterward married Patrick Blair, and immigrated to America in 1835, settling in Woodcock Township, Crawford County, Pennsylvania. In 1840 she went to Ireland for her three children, whom she brought back with her. Both she and her husband died on the farm they settled on here.
