General Notes: Husband - Robert Black


He was reared on the homestead farm, which he afterwards purchased. He was a leading member of the Whig party, and served two terms in the legislature. He died at Harrisburg during his second term. His wife died on the homestead in Mercer county.
He was a captain of the Springfield Light Infantry when it was organized.
He had two children with his first wife, both died in infancy. He had eight children with his second wife, two of whom died in infancy.
