He was a Presbyterian minister. Moved to Kentucky and Mississippi, where they resided eleven years; then moved to Allegheny, Pennsylvania.
He was first a carpenter; later studied divinity, and assumed the pastorate of the Fifth Pres. Church, of Pittsburgh. Later he was in Mississipp and Kentucky. He was a man of great power and eloquence.
