General Notes: Husband - John Frederick Diehl

The ancestor of the Diehl families of Franklin and Adams counties, he emigrated to Pennsylvania on the "Snow Squirrel," John Benn, master, from Rotterdam, landing at Philadelphia, Oct. 21, 1761. He settled in what became Butler township (formerly Menallen township), Adams County, and was a member of the German Baptist Church (Dunkard) of which there was quite a settlement in that section. He was rated on the tax list of Menallen township, in 1799, as one of the wealthy men of the township.
