General Notes: Husband - Edward Steeves, Esq.

The Steeves family is of English origin and for several generations was resident in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. He and his father were among the pioneers of Albert county, where the latter erected the first place of worship and built the first grist-mill. Both were deacons in the Baptist church.

The Steeves family is connected with several of the old and prominent families of New England and Canada, among them the Pecks and Bishops of New England. His father Steeves built the first church and the first sawmill at Hillsboro, Canada, and Hon. William H. Steeves, probably a nephew, was a prominent factor in the affairs of Canada for many years.
