General Notes: Husband - Chauncey G. Bishop

He came to what is now Farmington, Pennsylvania, in 1825, and was reared in the family of Joseph Marsh. After he became of age he hired as a farm hand at twelve dollars and fifty cents per month, applying his wages toward the payment of a tract of fifty acres of land he had purchased from the man he worked for, at the rate of six dollars per acre. He cleared seven acres of this tract and then sold it; then bought a part of another farm, which he added to, until he owned a farm of eighty-three and one-third acres, on which he began residing in 1846.
