General Notes: Husband - Cyrus F. Bilhimer

He was born near Bethany, East Huntingdon Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, at the Summit, on what was later the Jacob F. Stoner farm. He devoted his attention to farming until 1862, and then took up the trades of tinner and carpenter. He opened a tin shop in Irwin in 1866, and in 1870 a hardware store, which he conducted until 1878. From that year until 1902 he engaged in the insurance business, at which time he disposed of that branch of the business and devoted his attention to real estate. He was also the secretary of the Irwin Building and Loan Association. He served several terms as assessor and also on the board of health of Irwin. For a number of years he was president of the Union Cemetery Association, and was treasurer of the Westmoreland Underwriters' Association, serving for a number of years after its origin, and was made an honorary member of the organization upon retirement from active insurance work. He was an active member of the Methodist church, and held various offices in that body. In politics he was a Republican, exerting a potent influence in behalf of the party whose principles he advocates. He was a member of Lodge No. 225, Greensburg, A. Y. M.
