General Notes: Husband - [Father] Bigham

He was a member of a family originally of Scotch-Irish descent, but which lived in Pennsylvania for so many years that it became entirely identified with that state, particularly with Lancaster and Allegheny counties. He and his wife were probably born in Lancaster County, but removed to Allegheny County where they finally made their home. It was a time of considerable religious agitation and unrest in western Pennsylvania, and the Bighams were seceders from the older and more established forms.
