General Notes: Husband - James McCoy

---

He was born and married in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; was a farmer and came to Raccoon township, Beaver County, at an early day. He finally bought land where his grandson, J. E. McCoy, later resided, and died there at the age of fifty-six years. [HBC 1888, 865]

He was born east of the Allegheny Mountains, and came to Beaver County, Pennsylvania, in 1817 with his mother and the others of the family. Two years later he took up a tract of land in the wilderness in Beaver County, in what is now Independence township, cleared this and there erected a home. He added to this by degrees until he had a farm of two hundred and thirty-seven acres. [GPHBC, 1058]
