General Notes: Husband - John Adam Baker

The Baker family had a German origin, his parents having been among the early German emigrants who were probably natives of Würtemberg, and settled near Philadelphia in the early days.

He was born in Northampton County, in what was then the colony of Pennsylvania. He moved to Westmoreland County and founded the family in that region, the date of his migration there being about 1800. He bought land in Hempfield township, opposite the area that was later the county farm, and made his home there until his death.
