He fol-lowed farming all his life. In politics he was a Whig, then an Abolitionist, and afterward a Re-publican. He was a member and elder of the As-sociate Reformed Church for many years, then united with the U. P. Church.

The source gives the year of his birth as 1844, but this must be a mistake.
