Wayne E. Berlin
BRADFORD — Wayne E. Berlin, 89, of 38 Buchanan Hollow, Bradford, a former resident of the Knox area, died at 8:11 am Monday in Bradford Hospital.
Born in Tylersburg April 18, 1899, he was a son of John and Rose Exley Berling. He attended school in the Knox area.
He was married March 8, 1923, in Shippenville to the former Goldie Rossman. She died September 18, 1973.
Mr. Berlin lived in Knox and Ship­penville until moving to Bradford in 1946.
He was employed in the Bradford oil fields from 1946 to 1952. In 1954 he became employed by Airco-Speer Company, where he worked until retirement in 1964.
Mr. Berlin was a member of the Sawyer Evangelical Church of North America, the Foster Township Retired Men's Club, and the National Association of Retired Persons.
Surviving are four sons, Virgil Berlin of Cape Coral, Fla., Paul of Olean, N.Y., Gerald of Kane, and Raymond of Brad­ford; five daughters, Mrs. William (Maxine) Neely of Knox, Mrs. John (Norma) O'Neil Jr. of Seneca, Mrs. Dale (Barbara) Smith of Derrick City, and Mrs. Jack (Bonnie) Titus and Mrs. Marvin (Donna) Uhl, both of Bradford; 34 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are a brother, Sam Berlin, and a sister, Mrs. Lola Fye, both of Knox, along with several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 pm today and 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday at the Cahill Funeral Home in Bradford.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Thursday from the funeral home with Rev. John Clark of the Sawyer Evangelical Church of North America officiating.
Interment will follow in McKean Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette.

Mrs. Berlin Dies at 76 In Bradford
BRADFORD — Mrs. Goldie Rossman Berlin, 76, of 38 Buchanan Hollow, wife of Wayne E. Berlin and a former resident of the Knox area, died at 9:10 pm Tuesday in her home.
Born November 18, 1896, in Lamartine, she was a daughter of Charles and Sarah Emily Feith Rossman. She moved to Bradford in 1946 from ShippenvilleRD I.
Mrs. Berlin was a member of the Sawyer Evangelical Church of North America in Bradford.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne E. Berlin; five daughters, Mrs. William (Maxine) Neely of Knox, Mrs. John (Norma) O'Neil Jr. of Seneca, Mrs. Jack (Bonnie) Titus, Mrs. Marvin (Donna) Uhl and Mrs Dale (Barbara) Smith of Bradford; four sons, Virgil Berlin of Pleasantville, Paul Berlin of Olean, N. Y., John Raymond Berlin of Bradford and Gerald Berlin of Kane; 35 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Russell Rossman a Knox RD, and a sister, Mrs. Mae Cochran of Knox RD.
Five brothers are deceased.
Removal was made to the Cahill Funeral Home in Bradford, where friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 pm today and where funeral serivices will be held at 1 pm Friday. Rev. Harold Burdick, pastor of the Sawyer Evangelical Church, will officiate.
Interment will be in McKean Memorial Park at Lafayette.

Berlins To Be Honored On Golden Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Wayne E. Berlin of 38 Buchanan Hollow, Bradford, will be honored at an open house from 2 to 5 p.m., Sunday in the Community Hall at Lamartine, on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
The couple was wed, March 8, 1923 at Shippenville. They resided in the Knox and Ship­penville area until 1946 when they moved to Bradford.
Mr. Berlin was employed by the Healy Oil Company, and Airco Speer Co, retiring in 1964.
The event will be hosted by their children, Mrs. Everett (Maxine) Neely of Knox; Virgil Berlin of Pleasantville; Mrs. John (Norma) O'Neil of Seneca; Paul Berlin of Olean, N. Y.; Gerald Berlin of Kane; Mrs. Jack (Bonnie) Titus, Raymond Berlin, Mrs. Marvin (Donna) Uhl, and Mrs. Dale ( Barbara ) Smith, all of Bradford.
The couple also has 35 grandchildren and nine great -grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
