General Notes: Husband - Harry Mack Bennett

He was educated in the public schools, and on completing his studies became clerk in his father's store. He advanced so rapidly and became so capable an assistant that he was made manager. He acted in that capacity until 1906, when he was admitted to partnership. His excellent business qualities and fine executive ability had won him this distinction, and until his father's death three years later the greater part of the management fell upon the younger partner, who possessed the entire confidence of the founder. After the death of Mr. Bennett Sr. in 1909, Harry M. purchased the remaining interest of the heirs and became sole proprietor of the business he had helped to create. He also was a stockholder in the Farmers Bank of Emlenton and in several corporate enterprises. He was a Democrat in politics, but never accepted public office. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, the Maccabees and of the Methodist Episcopal church. [GPHAV, 968]
