General Notes: Husband - John B. Smith

He was born east of the mountains, and came to Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, with his parents when two years of age. The family was driven back by the Indians, but in 1800 came to Armstrong County and effected a settlement. Prior to this time John B. Smith's grandfather, Joseph Brown, had been killed by the Indians east of the mountains.

He was one of the early pioneers of North Buffalo township, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, where he cleared and improved a farm.
