John Homer Bell
John Homer Bell, 77, engaged in farming for many years in this area, died at 12:30 p.m. Friday, November 23, 1962 in his home in Eau Claire following a three day illness.
Mr. Bell was born at Six Points, Butler Co., May 28, 1885, a son of James and Clarenda McAllister Bell. Following his marriage in 1914 to Ruth McCandless, he resided on a farm at Emlenton RD 2, until his retirement three years ago when he moved to Eau Claire. He was a member of the East Unity Presbyterian Church.
Mr. Bell is survived by his widow; two sons, Richard M. Bell of Franklin and James A. Bell of Baltimore; two daughters, Mrs. Virginia Schrader of Erie and Mrs Evelyn Phaast of Sacramento, CA and seven grandchildren. Two sisters are deceased, Mrs. George Clay, formerly of Franklin and Maude Bell formerly of Silver Springs, MD.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday Nov. 26, 1962 in the funeral home with Rev. James Gillespie, pastor of the Emlenton United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was in the Scrubgrass Cemetery.

MRS. RUTH BELL
Mrs. Ruth Bell, 90, of 1 Dale Ave. formerly of Emlenton RD 2, died at 11:05 pm Monday in Franklin Regional Medical Cen­ter.
Born February 1, 1893, near Emlenton, she was a daughter of Thomas and Della Royer Mc­Candless.
She married J. Homer Bell on June 10, 1914, and he preceded her in death in November 1962.
She was a member of Scrubgrass Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sons, Rich­ard M. Bell of Franklin and James A. Bell of Baltimore, Md.; two daughters, Mrs. Claude (Virginia) Schrader of Erie and Mrs. Neil (Evelyn) Pfost of Sacramento, Calif., a sister, Mrs. Vera Say of Emlen­ton, and seven grandchildren.
Two brothers, Wade and Ar­thur McCandless, and two sis­ters, Lela Wilson and Vernie Stalker, preceded her in death.
The family will recieve friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at the Criswell-Gardinier Funer­al Home in Emlenton.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday in the funeral home with Rev. Robert Peter­son, pastor of Scrubgrass Pres­byterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in the Scrubgrass cemetery.
