General Notes: Husband - Joseph L. Ross

He was reared on the old Ross homestead in Amwell Township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, and in his boyhood attended the typical old log school-house of pioneer days.
He bought a farm of 140 acres, located in West Bethlehem Township, Washington County, on which he lived for many years, selling it in 1890, and retiring to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gamble. He was a prominent figure in Republican politics and in 1883 was elected county commissioner and served until 1887. For some sixteen years he was in business at Pittsburgh.

General Notes: Wife - Hannah A. Bell

She was married in the autumn of 1861; she died in 1906, aged fifty-seven years. [TCHWWC, 1066] Unless she really was married at twelve years old, something must be wrong with these dates.
