General Notes: Husband - Charles William Beisel

He was a private in General Custer's 7th Calvary prior to the battle at the Bighorn River, Montana Territory; on June 25, 1876 was placed on medical leave and returned to post, due to snow blindness, probably to Ft. Abraham Lincoln, Dakota Territory (Just South of Mandian, North Dakota). Due to severe weather conditions in this period of time, even the month of May, 1876 and in the present day, weather in the Wolf Mountains between Ft. Lincoln and the Big Horn Battlefield can very well have snow to some depth.
He worked as a streetcar conductor in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was killed in a streetcar accident.
