General Notes: Husband - John Zimmerman

He was a soldier in the Civil War. He was first sergeant in Company I, Eleventh Regiment, and participated in a number of the most important battles, notably Gettysburg, Antietam, The Wilderness and Bull Run. He was wounded twice, and in the battle of Bull Run he had the tip of his nose shot off.
