General Notes: Husband - [Ancestor] Zaug

This family can be traced back to the farming community of Lützelflüh, Switzerland, in the 1500s where Ulrich Zug and his wife Anna Neukomm lived. Lützelflüh first appears in 1225 as Lucelfluo. It became a barony until 1450 when the nobility of Bern bought it. Lützelflüh is about 12 miles east of Bern, Switzerland, and now is in that canton. The Zaug family were probably tenant farmers there for several generations. However, in the 1600s a protestant reform movement began that led to persecution of those involved.
