General Notes: Husband - Samuel Workman


He and his brothers, Hugh and James, came to Washington County, Pennsylvania, about 1781. They all purchased lands outside the borough of Washington.
He took out a warrant for a tract of land dated Sept. 2, 1785, which was surveyed May 13th the next year. It was called "Paphos," and contained three hundred and fifty-eight acres. He opened a tavern in 1796, and kept it till 1812.
