She descended from Dr. Francis Herron, one of the leading Presbyterian preachers in earl y Pittsburgh days, and was pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Pittsburgh. Her father was for many years president of the Fort Pitt National Bank, and later president of the Central District and Printing and Telegraph Company.
