He was born on the old family place in Fallowfield township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. He always resided on the home farm, to which he brought his bride upon their marriage. He had five children with his first wife.
In politics Mr. Bedall was a Whig and Republican, and in religious faith a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church.
