General Notes: Husband - Jonathan White

He was a large landholder, settling in the northern part of the New Grant, later Leominster, where he lived the greater part of his life. He was also an early proprietor of the town of Charlemont and built a house in the south part, which became Heath. On March 29, 1755, he was commissioned captain in the Worcester Regiment of Colonel Ruggles, which marched for Crown Point. In this campaign he was promoted to the rank of major and then of lieutenant-colonel; as colonel he fought in the battle of Lake George, 1756, and participated in the Lake Champlain campaign, serving creditably until the end of the war.
