General Notes: Husband - [Father] Weir

This family is descended from Scotch-Irish ancestors. In the latter part of the eighteenth century three brothers first landed on American soil. They crossed the ocean together, and soon after their arrival in the United States settled near the head of Chartiers creek in Washington County, Pennsylvania. The families of Adam and William in after years pushed farther westward, their descendants being scattered throughout Iowa and the neighboring states.
