General Notes: Husband - Robert Wallace

He lived until his death in Robinson township, Washington County, Pennsylvania, where he was known as "Indian Bob," a term indicative of his early captivity by the natives.

When a child between three and four years of age, with his mother, an older brother, and an infant in arms, he was taken from their home, near Florence, Pennsylvania, by Indians, in the raid of 1782. Robert was the only one of the prisoners ever recovered, his father securing him in 1786. He carried, however, through life, a scar on one cheek, made with a tomahawk in the hand of an Indian squaw.
